I am a Christian and an active member of Antioch Community Church in Kansas City, MO. I am married to a beautiful woman, Devyn, and I am the father of a strong young man, Elijah, and beautiful daughters, Ruth and Hannah. I am also the Scoutmaster of Troop 302 in Kansas City. As an Eagle Scout and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, I am delighted to continue with Scouting in this leadership role.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with my wife and children.
I have a love for politics, religion, and her (Devyn, my wife). I violate Sammy Kershaw's song on every level and I am happy to do it. To me, politics and religion have more effect on our lives than most things people talk about so I love to debate politics and share my faith. And, I love my wife above all others so I like to talk about her too.
My faith and political persuasion are inextricably linked. God gave us certain unalienable rights and a bit over two hundred years ago a group of thoughtful men figured they should build a new nation on the solid rock of Christian Principle.
Christ told his followers to go into the world and teach that which he taught so after several years of wondering what that great commission meant for me, a good friend of mine and his wife asked me to be the Scoutmaster of a new Troop. Having grown up in Scouting and owing so much to those men who helped mold me and set me on the right path, I knew I had to answer the call. In 2011 we started our planning and in June 2012 we had our new Troop started. I have come to realize that the lifelong pull I had towards His ministry was also pulling me towards youth service. Scouting is my ministry and I am humbled that there are those who see me as a mentor. My singular goal is to help all of my scouts set upon a righteous trail towards joyful service to the Lord. Of course, it's Scouting, so my method of doing this is lots of fun in the outdoors!
I have been in the computer industry since 1995. I joined the Navy in 2000 and served as an Electronics Technician. After being discharged from the Navy, I moved to San Diego and worked for Lockheed Martin on a contract with the Navy. After about two years, I decided the west coast wasn't for me and moved back to my home state of Missouri.
I spent many years working for companies of all different sizes. I have been a computer networking 'architect', 'engineer', 'guru', 'Dr.' and a host of other titles but most people outside of the industry don't care about that stuff so as my wife describes me, I am a 'computer guy'. I hold the MCSE/MCSA credentials for Windows 2000 and 2003 and MCITP: Enterprise Administrator credential for Windows 2008. I work on everything Microsoft but focus on web technologies.
I am the founder and President of i7MEDIA, an innovative web hosting and design company specializing in website solutions for businesses and non-profits. In this role, I wear more hats than I should but lately my primary focus has been on business growth and sales.
