Great Commission

17 August 2015

Being of the Body of Christ, we can rest in the assurance of His love and forgiveness. How awesome is that?!? There's an old analogy likening sharing Christ's message to sharing the cure for cancer; if you had the cure for cancer, would you share it?

Of course, anyone who had discovered a cure for cancer would share it with the world. So, why not share Christ's message? Acceptance of Him, His divinity and His sacrifice is the ultimate cure for all ills. As Christians we know that while sometimes an 'earthly healing' may not occur, everlasting life free of illness awaits us.

In Matthew 28:19-20, Christ gave us the Great Commission:

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

As Scouts, we are part of a family that takes care of each other and those around us. We 'do our best' in everything we do and we have a blast doing it. So, if we are having so much fun and doing so much good for others, why not share it? How about a Great Commission for Scouts?

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations and Scouts of all boys!
