How important is Christianity to its followers?

Could it be more important than anything purchased with money or gold?

As Patrick Henry (1736-1799, lawyer and patriot) approached the end of his life he said, "I have disposed of all my property to my family. There is one more thing I wish I could give them, and that is the Christian religion. If they had that and I had not given them one cent, they would be rich."

John 14:5-6 says:

5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
